I have to work on an existing site created in FP. I want
to download a copy of the complete site from the server
to my computer. I cannot figure out how to change
the "publish from" default. Import does not give me the
whole site. This is extremely frustrating. Can anyone
tell me the steps required to download an existing site
from a web server? Have XP Pro O/S with IIS server
installed - not sure if that makes a difference to the
process.

The trick is to open the remote site in FrontPage then publish to the new
destination.

In FP:
- "File | Open Web..."
- Enter the live site's address, i.e.: http://www.example.com
- Once the site is loaded, click "File | Publish Web..."
- Enter the destintation site address, i.e.: http://localhost/example
(There's some missing "Click 'OK's" in there, but it should be
self-evident.)

When that's done, you should have a complete copy of the live site on your
computer.

Good luck!

Open the remote web site in FrontPage, and publish it to a location on your
local machine.
