How to do Format(anumber, "###") in C#?

I want keep 3 character space for any numbers between 0 ~ 999.
[ 0] [999] : all numbers keeps 3 space using Integer.ToString()
How can I do this?

Hi GoodMorningSky,

There might be better ways but

int n = 3;
string number = n.ToString().PadLeft(3, ' ');

will get you " 3" and "999".

Hi,

Have a look at Int32.ToString in the MSDN - it can take as an argument a
formatter to do this kind of thing. I don't know off the top of my head the
exact string you'd need to pass in, but, for example, to print a floating
point number to 2 decimal places you call single.ToString( "F2 ).
