In XP and prior versions I was able to separate my e-mail contacts into
separate folders. This way when I hit the "To" button, I could choose the
appropriate folder and not have to go through the total list. I don't know
how to do this in Vista.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Open Windows Contacts and click New Contact Group in the toolbar.

You can't do it with Windows Mail (WM). Contact Groups
in WM are all-or-nothing distribution lists.
Windows Live Mail is similar except that Contact group
can be expanded into individual addressees, then trimmed
on the fly on the 'To' line.

BOOOOO!!

thanks for letting me know .... that's too bad, 'cause it was a very helpful
feature to me to have a whole group of e-mail addresses that i used only
rarely in a separate folder ... that way on a daily basis these names didn't
clutter my search

thanks very much for your assistance on both issues, halboye
