I have a remote user that needs to change his contacts
list display format. When he opens a new email and clicks
TO, the Name Select options for his contacts displays last
name first, but wants them to be viewed in a first name,
last name format. I know how to change the display by
going into TOOLS > SERVICES > OUTLOOK ADDRESS BOOK >
PROPERTIES, but this particualr user is using a POP3
account and therefore the SERVICE option under TOOLS does
not exist. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Is this Outlook 2000? Have the user go into the Address book, click Tools,
then Sort By, and make sure both Name and First Name are checked. (This may
work for Outlook 98 too...not sure.)

It is Outlook 2000, but I see no Sort By. Once in the
Address Book under the TOOLS menu, there is only FIND and
PROPERTIES neither of which have any sort by menu
selections. ANy other options, or I am just brain dead and
looking in the wrong spot.

I, too, am having this problem in Outlook 2000 and am experiencing the same problems as Joseph (i.e., in Outlook 2000 I see no Sort By. Once in the Address Book under the TOOLS menu, there is only FIND and PROPERTIES and neither of these have "Sort By"). Please help! Thanks in advance

Are you sure you're in Internet Mail Only mode? Check the second line of
Help | About Microsoft Outlook. Also, are you sharing your contacts with
Outlook Express?

Never mind my last reply...I realized I chose the wrong menu for you to look
under. It should be the VIEW menu, not the Tools menu. I'm a little rusty
on my Outlook 2000 commands. Sorry about that.
