How to display points one at a time?

I would like to display several points one at a time. The first point should
be at the top, then when I click the second point should appear below it and
so forth.

I can do this by copying the first point to the second slide and the first
and second points to the third slide, etc but it would be much easier to
maintain if the points only actually existed once.

Any suggestions? I am using PowerPoint 2000.

Make, for example, Slide #1 the slide with your 1st point.
Copy that slide, which would be Slide #2, then add your 2nd point.
Copy that slide, which would be Slide #3, then add your 3rd point, and so
on.

As you successively move through the slides, your list of points appears to
grow.

I appreciate the suggestion, but this is exactly the method I described in my
original post. It works nicely, but the problem is that if point #1 changes,
you have to make the change in *every* succesive slide. What I am looking for
is a way to achieve the effect described, yet have only *one* actual instance
of each point.
