How to display a report with sub reports in a certain order

I have a report with about five subreports. At the moment if there is data
visible in the subreports the information will be displayed, and if there
is no data in the subreports nothing will be displayed.

The problem at the moment is depending on which of the five subreports has
data visible for example lets say the subreport five has data visible this
is currently displayed on the main report with a massive gap between the
header and the data from subreport five. Is there a method available which
will allow visible data to be shown in a certain order without having any
gaps or spaces in the report?

Try shrinking the forms down, set the CanGrow and CanShrink both to yes.
