I am connected from a W2k machine to an other machine (Mac G4) offering SAMBA. I did not map the drive to any letter.

Q: How do I disconnect the session without booting neither of the machines? There seems not to be a command for that purpose?

Hi,

Please see 316740 SMB Logoff Command Is Not Sent When Session Is Disconnected

regarding your issue with SAMBA shares.

Hope this helps,
Gary

Actually my problem is even more simple than that. Let me reformulate:

On user command or user action level, how do I tell Windows to disconnect? E.g right clicking does not seem to give any approriate selection.

Hi Petri,

There is not a command line do disconnct. All you have to do is close the connection
(window) and then it is gone. If this is an application, then it is the application that is causing the
problem and you will need ot chekc with the application vendor. But Windows will close the
connection when you close the window.

Thanks,
Gary
