I am trying to install the Active X component for my newly installed McAffe
Anti Virus 10 (2006) version. I keep getting a pop up notice from"Windows
AntiSpyware:" that says "AScripting requirement needs your approval." Then, I
click on "allow" and the notice just keeps popping up. McAfee has told me I
need to disable the Windows Antispware (temporarily?) to finish installing
the Active X component for McAfee Virus Scan 10. This seems like a hick of a
lot of trouble to install a program, but does anyone know how to disable
Windows Antispware version XP , Widows package 2?

Hi Arby;
Right click the taskbar icon for MSAS (the orange bull's-eye), select Shutdown
Microsoft AntiSpyware, then don't forget to start it up via double clicking the
desktop icon when you're through your install. You could probably disable
Application Agents/ActiveX installations as well while you leave MSAS up and
running, but without a firewall like some internet suite AV programs, it's not
as critical to keep Anti-spyware running continually, and it sure is effective
to shut it down for a short time.

Are you logged into the administrator account that installed MSAS?

If not, then MSAS will not work as expected since it currently ONLY supports
the administrator account that installed the app.
