When I boot Windows the OS detects somehow that there is a device without driver.
So it asks me to install the

Conexant's BtPCI WDM Video Capture

driver. But: I do not have a TV video card (I removed it physically some time ago).
So how do I tell Windows to disable this device resp. do not aks me to install this driver again?

Hi, Paul.

Can you go to Device Manager and Uninstall the driver, rather than Disable
it?

In Device Manager, you might need to click View | Show Hidden Devices.
Sometimes there are skeletons hiding in this closet.

You might still have remnants of the card showing in device manager.
Select View/Show hidden devices and see if the card shows up or it just
shows up with a red or yellow icon. The safest way to remove an
installed device is to first remove it from device manager, shut down,
and then physically remove it.

Hi Paul,

It seems you did not uninstall the TV card drivers before disconnecting the
card. Go the Add & Remove programs in Control Panel and remove any
software/drivers associated with the TV card.

If this does not work, restart Windows in safe mode and check Device Manager
for any malfunctioning devices(or unknown devices). Remove any such devices
and reboot.
