Does anyone have a quick fix for eliminating the annoying
start up screen (the one that asks for a login name and
password) before WinXP desktop appears? Thanks in advance.

Do you have more then one account? If you have multiple
user accounts, you're always going to get the login in
screen, if you don't have multiple accounts (users) just
make sure that there is no password assigned to "your"
account. If there is no password and no multiple
accounts, it will automatically boot to the desktop.
Good luck.

Thanks Gerry.
There is my (administrator) account, "ASP.NET" account,
and a "guest" account. I assume the "ASP" is for
Microsoft's ".Net" package that I use with MS Money. I'm
really the only user, so should I delete the other two
user accounts? Many, many thanks!
Bob

Hi,

The asp.net account is the result of installing the .net framework update
from the Windows Update site - you can remove this account should you wish.

To setup and autologon:

Start/run "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes).

Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok and follow
the prompts to set up a default logon.
