Dear All,

I need to disable the sleep button / sleep function on my XP Image build. I
have searched the newsgroups and see no reference to how to do this. I
tried removing the ACPI Sleep component from the image - but the button
still causes the system to go to sleep. I am also getting very occasional
system sleeps after the system has been running for many days without
interaction. One other clue is that I get the system logon dialog when the
unit returns from Sleep. I am asked to login again.

Any help is appreciated.

Martin

KM,

I have set the power management in the TD to "Always On" - however this does
not disable the sleep function.

Any other ideas?

Thanks
Martin

Martin,

Have you tried setting up the proper power policies in your image?
You can do that in TD by selecting the right power scheme on the HAL [PC]
component's settings page.

You can also use GUI (power applet) or command line utility (powercfg.exe)
to set some power options.
And last, you can pre-set some options with AcPolicy/DcPolicy registry
settings:

Martin,

Did you check what option in selected under the Sleep Button action in Power Options applet at run time?

If you set it to the appropriate action (do nothing), try to export the AcPolicy/DcPolicy registry and include it in to the image?

Or you can try "POWERCFG /CHANGE "Always On" /standby-timeout-dc <lange number>" command.
