You can disable it by going to the System Control Panel applet, click
on the remote tab, and unselecting Remote Assistance.

There is no Control Panel applet. I didn't find any Remote tab to unselect
Remote Assistance in. Windows XP Pro.

Oops! System | Remote tab... Thanks. There is no Control Panel--that threw
me. Then do you delete the Shortcut in Programs or will it disappear when I
reboot now that it is disabled?

You can also use a group policy on an XP Pro box to disable Remote
Assistance. Go to "Start -> Run" and type gpedit.msc at the command line.
Next navigate to "Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration ->
Administrative Templates -> System -> Remote Assistance -> Solicited Remote
Assistance". Right click and select "Properties" then "Disabled".

When you go to the control panel applet the Remote Assistance section will
be grayed out.

You can delete it if you want. When it is disabled, it won't work...
