I have set up a 802.11b wireless network with an access point and a laptop. For security,
I turn on WEP, make the SSID invisible, and turn on MAC address filtering.

I heard that to make it even more secure, I should disable peer to peer networking ability
of the wireless card. Is this true? If so, how?

Hi,

If your notebook's wireless network card is setup so that it's accessing the
network via your access point (Infrastructure Mode), then you're fine.
The wireless card can't be using two different modes at the same time such
as Infrastructure and Ad Hoc Mode simultaneously.
