Hi, I prefer the simplicity of MS Live Mail but ever since I installed
Outlook it's been capturing most of my email (much to my surprise, dummy me)
and I would like to disable Outlook as my Email client. How can I do this and
still keep the Calendar function? Thanks for any and all advice.

Well you must have set up an email account in Outlook for that to happen.
Just remove the email account in Outlook...

Thanks Gordon, I did that but I had hoped there was just some "button" that I
could push to do that. Not a problem now.

But would you happen to know how to change the default Email client in the
Vista start window. Outlook grabbed that I can't seem to find out to change
it back to Windows Mail.

Thanks for your help!

Here's one place

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Default
Programs\Set Program Associations

Skip that last, please. All problems solved. Thanks for your help!

YW!. However be aware that every time you download an MS Update for Outlook
it will steal the default setting back.
