Group,

I ran mmc and disabled 'internet option' on user
configuration and now it works correctly (ie, the option
is hidden) in the browser. However, it looks like it
affect all users including admin user who has full
control. How do i seperate that

Having done the above, guest users still can
access 'internet option' in the browser as they still can
access START - control panel - internet option icon. How
do I hide that?

Any help would be appreciated.

On a non domain machine, Group Policy applies to all users as you have
found. An "unsupported" hack involves giving deny permissions to the
user/group you want to exempt to the \winnt\system32\group policy\users
folder. Of course the administrator would need to give himself full control
again to that folder to make future changes. As for your second question.
You can restrict control panel access totally or certain modules by using
user configuration/administrative templates/control panel. This may not
totally restrict a user and you may also want to change ntfs permissions to
be more restrictive on the corresponding .cpl file that you want to
restrict. Search your computer for *.cpl to see the various control panlel
files such as inetcpl.cpl for internet properties. --- Steve
