Hi group. I'd like to disable this feature, you know, when you open a
folder and XP starts scanning each file to show the length,
resolution, etc. Or when the folder contains MP3 and XP shows the
title, author, duration, etc. I'd like to disable this feature for ALL
the folders and permanently because it slows down my computer a lot.
Does anyone know how to do this?. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Mary, but this is not the real problem I have, I already knew
that.
I want to disable this feature for ALL the folders and not only the
viewing but also the scanning process. I was thinking in disabling a
service, a group policy or something to stop XP scanning my files and
wasting time. If the folder has many big files it freezes for 1 minute
and the explorer.exe process runs using up to 90 % CPU. (My XP does it
even if I'm not choosing to view these details, and is not an
antivirus problem).
