Hi,

I was just wondering how you determine how much black/color a page of text
has? Is there a freeware program that will let you do it? A feature in Word?
They say 5% average... But its something that every time I look at a page I
wonder what really is 5%??

Thanks

I refill my cartridges and stopped counting "yield" several years
ago. Now I sleep nights ;-)

Just printed 45 pages at Canon's highest photo resolution, with a third
of the pages filled with very large, colorful photos. My cost using
genuine Canon cartridges would have been in the neighborhood of $50 CDN.
My cost using bulk ink (8oz bottles), about $2.50. This was a special
Christmas project, a copy of which I gave to 7 of my best friends.
There's no way I could have afforded it using OEM inks. Each set uses
about two thirds of a cartridge - and I need 4 colors. So what's it
gonna be, $50 or $2.50 per set?

Yield?... who gives a .... ;-)
