Hi,

today I had to do a clean install of Windows Xp because the PC was riddled
with viruses. Havin re-installed XP Pro I tried to install my broadband
again, but it seems it can't find my ethernet controller.

I went to deveice manager and it has a yellow question mark against the
ethernet controller, PCI Device and Video controller. Searching on the hard
drive for drivers didn't work, nor did searching the resources CD which came
with the computer. Even looking on the manufacturers website, they only have
the drivers seen on the CD.

Is it possible to find out the manufacturer of these deveices so that I can
go to them for the drivers?

If the drivers that came with the pc don't work you are not installing
correctly or in the right order. Look for install instructions on the CD
that came with the computer.

The BIOS probably has an on/off setting for the NIC device.
Did you check this?
