i am running winxp home sp2. my computer almost always freezes when trying
to burn or rip. everything shows to be working properly.
i seem to recall seeing 'roxio' somewhere on my machine and also recall
hearing someone say that it is an inferior program. however, i can't seem to
locate anything with the name 'roxio' anywhere in the programs--nowhere in my
software. how can i locate [or determine] what cd burning software is
installed, and when i do, how to remove it and replace it with a better
program?? also, how do i determine which program to replace it with?
i seem to recall hearing of updates to the roxio software recently--this
couldn't have anything to do with my problem, could it?? and, might anyone
have any idea what might be making my pc freeze up during the aforementioned
operations? it is extremely frustrating, to say the least...
thank you so much for any help you may be able to offer--
allyson

Roxio, in mY Opinion is an Excellent Program, been using it for years. The
CD Creative Wrter was put out by Adaptec and then it Merged with Roxio and I
now have Version 7.5 and I am able to do everything I want. I have copied CDs
into my HD, hundreds of LPs and so forth. As long as you have the latest
Codecs for your CD Writer and the latest patches for the CD writer software
you should have zero problem.s
Look under the Adaptec directory.

Once located find out if you have the packaged with the computer version
or the Box Version, if you have the Box it is the Full version and you will
enjoy it. I dit music, Normalize all files being recorded onto the drive or
being copied onto the CD, I can make transitions between wav and mp3 and it
burns at a much faster speed than Nero or any of the Freeware I have
downloaded. I am very happy with Roxio software. I am sure you can find
others who are not.
