I have hibernate turned off in RTM x86 and am trying to delete the
almost 1gig size hidden file but it keeps saying another program is
using it.
What the correct way to delete it?

I'm sure I read here that you can use the Disc cleanup utility, just tick
the hibernation file section.

Just remember, deleting the hibernation file also disables
hibernation.

Yep you can surely use the disk cleanup utility but I recommend you not to do
it unless you are sure that you don't need the hibernate again because after
the cleanup the option will be disabled and only an expert can return it to
normal

powercfg -h on

thats not so hard

Actually, it is powercfg -h off. This will turn off hibernation and delete the
hiberfil.sys file.

Troy was referring to how to re-enable hibernation. The previous poster
Jafarkhan was under the impression that restoring it after it's been removed
was a job for an 'expert'.
