How to delete "Junk e-mail" folder?

I have just moved from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003. I opened my existing
..pst file, which included the folders "junk e-mail" and "junk suspects" (from
Spambeyes), in Outlook 2003. Outlook pronptly created another folder "junk
e-mail1" which I cannot delete or rename.

Not a big thing, but a nuisance (the weird folder name).

How do I "fix" this?

Try starting Outlook once with the /ResetFolders switch. If you need help
using Outlook command line switches, look here:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;296192

Once you've done that, you should be able to delete the Junk Email1 folder.

Thanks for the suggestion (and your wilingness to help) -- but it did NOT
solve the problem.

For further clarification, folder "Junk e-mail1" remains, with the "Delete"
and "Rename" options on right-click greyed, and the international "No" symbol
across the icon left of the folder name in Outlook Folder View.

Sounds like something to do with the new (?) spam filtering built-in to
Outlook?

I guess Outlook had no choice but to name its Junk Mail folder with a (1)
after it since you already had another folder named Junk Mail. I don't
think there's any way to change that.

Jocelyn, thank for posting the link, it was vary helpful. I had the same
problem as Islandcga. This may be of farther help.

I deleted the “Junk E-mail†folder and set up Spambayes to use the “Junk
E-mail1†folder. Using the link provided by Jocelyn, I started Outlook once
with the “/ResetFolderNames†switch. It renamed the “Junk E-mail1†folder to
“Junk E-mailâ€. Hope this helps.
