Hi,
I would like to remove an entry, ID3-TagIT, from the Explore context
menu; in Explore/Tools/Folder Options.../File Types, there are two
folder icons which I dob't quite get; one is "File Folder", the other is
"Folder". What's the diff?

In any case, ID3-TagIT is under File Folder/Advanced, get when I select
it, the Remove button remains inactive. Any other ideas, please?

Secondly, when I set, in the Folder/Advanced section, "Explore" to be
the default, it just doesn't happen. It doesn't appear as default in the
menu (Search... does), nor is it the default action (Search... is). Is
there a toggle somewhere to have "Explore" open as Explore, not Search?

Many thanks,
Dave Braden

The search feature being set as the default is a common problem. The following website has an automated fix for this problem.

Fix "Search" Opens Instead of Explorer:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_folder_open.htm

The "ID3-TagIT" item in the context menu was placed there by a third party program. If there is not an option in that program to remove the item, you may need to remove the program to get rid of it.

For the right click, context menu customizing, see the following website for information on deleting/changing these.

Manage the context-menu entries for files, folders, drives and Namespace objects:
