How to delete barred lines

Wade Alexander

HI Helpers,

I typed in Asterisks across a page as a visual marker.
They turned into a barred line that I cannot delete.
How can I get rid of them. I'm using Win 98 and Word 2002.
Thanks for help

Thanks -- VERY MUCH -- It worked, but I had to place the
curson directly above the dotted line.

Hi, Wade. That's a paragraph border. Select the
paragraph above the barred line, then click on Format |
Borders and Shading | Borders tab | None. If you don't
want Word to automatically create borders like this for
you, you can turn the option off by clicking on Tools |
Autocorrect Options | Autoformat As You Type | uncheck
the "Border lines" box.
