When beginning to type a name in the contact field, names beginning with the
same letter appear. One of the names I use a lot, has a wrong e-mail (old)
attached to it and I would like to delete it. I cannot find the file that it
exists in.

Nor do you need to. You only need to read the many posts here that have
answered your question countless times:
Remove individual addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting
the entry when presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to
migrate to the entry) and then hitting your Delete key before you tab out of
the field. To clear the entire cache, follow the instructions here:

Thank you for the reply.

If there were a listing of common terminology that existed it might be
easier to determine if there were a previous answer to my question. But
usually eveyone has a job to do and finding out why a certain phenomonen
occurrs is not one of mine. That is why I asked the question, and a less
snappy answer would have also been appreciated.

Searching a newsgroup for an answer to your question before you post is
considered common courtesy around here, and is equally appreciated. If you
don't know how to search newsgroups, I'd much rather spend the time teaching
you how to do that than answer the same question over and over.
