I just got a hand-me-down computer from my husbands
company. I want to upgrade from windows 2000 to Windows
XP. The computer has a system administrator set up and,
I have the password. I would like to get rid of the
system administrator before upgrading as I will be the
only one using the computer. How do I do this?

change the password to reflect your requirements

produce a second account with admin permissions and use that
one for your work

make sure that you keep the original passowrds safe and
secure, it is quite amazing how many people ask how to
recover a the admin passowrd because they have forgotten.
lost, etc
