How to defeat a password changed by mistake

I have a Toshiba laptop computer which was running Windows
98 one of my colleagues at JSR community college offered
to add Windows 2000 to my computer, however he over wrote
Windows 98 and cannot remember what password he gave me.
Therefore, I can not access my programs or get out of the
start window, how can I delete the Windows 2000 program
from my harddrive without loosing all of the data or how
can I defeat the password and enter my own password so
that I can access my files. I am desprite!
 
Hi Leroy.

See the link below that shows where to get a free downloadable image you can use to
create a bootable floppy or cdrom to reset the built in administrators account to be
blank/null. For the most part you select the default answer when you are prompted to
proceed. Just pay attention to the part that asks you what account to reset. ---

You might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:
