P Peter T. Daniels Sep 28, 2009 #2 You can open a .doc (2003) file in 2007 with no problem. You can save a file from 2007 in .doc format (using "Save As"). You can only open a .docx (2007) file in 2003 if you download the free Compatibility Pack from Microsoft.
