How to decline a meeting from my calendar

Sometimes I setup meetings for people on my team, but I don't need to be
there. How do I decline the meeting without removing it from everyone else's
computer?
 
Open up the appointment (either for the single occurrence or for the series.
Click on the Scheduling tab.
On the left you'll see a list of "All Attendees"
Remove your name from that list. (Right click and "clear" at the bottom of
the pop up menu.
