"Table" here is an (abstract) object in a database containing data.
On the other hand, the vertices of a regular octagon lie on a circle and the
angle from the centre of the circle to each straight edge is exactly 45
degree. You can use these properties to construct a regular octagon.
This was actually written down "on paper" (papyrus, perhaps) circa 300 B.C.
in Euclid's Thirteen Books of Elements and repeated in most high-school
Maths books.
