When I open the explorer tool it always open with 'my
documents.. I want to open with the hard drive icon and
subfolders.

Kindest regards

There are some command line options to do this. However I find it the
easiest to open Explorer by pressing the "Windows Key + E", that should give
you what you are looking for.

change to desired directory.
in internet explorer 6.0
pick tools on toolbar
pick internet options
pick general tab
in "home page" address: your desired directory
pick "use current" button
pick apply and ok buttons

Either create or modify a shortcut so that the "Target:" points to

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,C:\
