how to customise startup program controls

i want to know how to remove all the junk programs when
your computer starts; i have already tried to go to
startup on the start menu but none of the programs are
there anyways. I saw i friend use a code on "run" and i
showed a screen where you could disable some startup
programs. if anyone knows could they tell me the code.

I also would like to know how to do this. I recently installed AOL AIM and don't want their home page starting everytime I start my computer. Thank you to whoever can help here!

The program to which anon is referring is msconfig. Run that and you will
be able to disable various programs from automatically starting. It won't
uninstall them from the computer however.

....Or get a tweaking tool.
