I am trying to make a very simple hit counter in Frontpage 2003. I created a
GIF of the numbers (evenly spaced) from 0-9 in PhotoShop. When I add it to a
web page it shows up as just a black box, no numbers. I tried saving the GIF
in a few different ways, with a white matt, with a white background, with a
transparent background.

Thank you for your help!

Thanks for the compliment.
I checked your new "image."

Looks good.

Thank you (and Steve) the tool works great! I am still wondering (I'm sorry,
that's just the way I am) why the GIF I made didn't work. It seems like it
is just a simple image. Maybe it has to be certain dimensions? Any thoughts?
Thanks again.

You make one GIF file with the digits 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 right? The digits
must be evenly spaced (as you've done), and the same size.

So you could put a box/border around each digit, which would then enable
them to be the same size e.g. 15px x 15px or whatever.

Thanks for your reply. I made a GIF in Photoshop using Courier font and the
grid option so that I could make sure the numbers were evenly spaced. I
don't know if the numbers not being evenly spaced would make it show up as
just a black square. I think it would just make the counter not work really
well....but I'm not an expert. I don't know.....and that really bothers me
:)
Thank you!

The width of the image must be evenly divisible by 10.
Height doesn't matter.

Also, transparent images will not work. fpcount.exe is not designed to
handle transparency.
