If You want to create container You can't use ADU&C but some other tool
like adsiedit.msc or ldp.exe.

What did You mean by manage Program settings - are you sure You don't
need another OU?

I think you are confused on what you want. You can create a new container
in ADUC by right clicking on the domain name in ADUC, selecting new and then
selecting either container or OU.

I don't believe this has anything to do with what you want though.

Thank you very much.
In my project, I want to manage the customized security infomations for each
user, but I don't want to change user struct. So I want to create a new
contianer to manage security infomations for each user, How can I do this?

Thanks

Managing configuration on per user basis in a central way is not a way
You want to go - this is not what was on the mind of peoples who
designed any NOS and directory.
Containers were designed as a way to group some objects which has to be
managed in a similar way - so in AD it lets You apply some settings on
per OU basis (with GPO) but not per single user.

or I'm missing something

By default you won't get the option in ADUC to create a container because MS
didn't deem it necessary for most admins to need to do that; you need to modify
some stuff i nthe directory to tell ADUC to allow you to create a container.

Ok, so ADSI Edit is the only way then, correct?
