Install Server. Run "DCPromo".

You will have a domain when it completes.

Join the other machine to the domain (System Control Panel.)

Ask when you need more help.

To run a domain you need a server operating system. No need to take any
courses.

It's mostly the same for Win2000 as for Win2003 (except in some
minor details and advanced features.)

Books are not generally that important -- there is TONS of information
built right into the HELP SYSTEM, and more tons available on the
Microsoft web site and on other sites.

I am in Canada to far to take your course............

I didn't suggest you take my course -- I do free mentoring for
those who do serious self-study anyway.

BUT were you interested I get many students from Canada
and just last month a student attended who lives in Ireland.
(We have had people attend from all over the world, mostly
US, Canada, and Europe though.)

Still, I do seriously offer free mentoring and many people
(including me) will help you here on these newsgroups.

One thing I should clarify: Administering and Designing with Win2003
is much the same, the exams are quite a bit different.

BUT if you learn the PRODUCT rather than just the tests it is not as
large a jump with the exception of the new and advanced features.

My favorite (and a cheap) book is "Windows Server 2003 Delta Guide".
(Get it used from Amazon for only a few dollars usually.)
