Does anyone know any other way to create read-only file?

I know I can change the properties to "read only" but any reader
can simply save it under a different name then makes changes,
butI don't want any changes at all. What can I do?

Thank you

Actually, it can be altered very easily. Simply change the extension to ppt
and it will open in an edit mode within PowerPoint. Or just open the pps
from within PowerPoint and it can be edited.

I've also been looking into ways to lock ppt but can't
say .pps was my answer, simply because it's too easy to
change the file extension and have full access again. You
might want to look into MS Producer.

good luck :-)

Got this method from one of the regulars here...it's not
foolproof but would require that a person have a bit more
detective skills to figure out how to edit the
presentation. Open a new presentation. Insert your real
presentation as an object and resize to fit the slide. In
Action Settings, have the object Show on mouseclick or
even Mouseover. Save it as whatever name you want. When
people get it, all they get is a single slide presentation
but the actual is embedded so it is transparent in use.
I've used the method with several presentations and most
people can't figure out how to get at the actual
presentation. Maybe this will help.
