How do I copy one cell and then selectively paste that cell to many other
cells by simply single clicking?

I know how to do it by copying, holding down the control key and
then double-clicking on cells. Then clicking on paste.

But a long time ago I saw a guy do in by single clicking on cells
and bam the data appeared whereever he clicked.

I could copy and
right click paste as many times as I wanted.

Or shift-Insert (on the number keypad) as many times as I wanted.

Is this what you perhaps saw?

Right click in the original, and choose "Copy".
Now, hold <Ctrl>, and just keep clicking in any/all the cells that you want
to copy *to*.
When you've selected them all, just a single <Enter>!

You can rightclick on a cell and COPY, then hold down Ctrl-Alt and leftclick
on the cells you wish to paste to and they will grey-out as you do
it...........when you have them all selected, rightclick on one of them and
paste.......the copied value pastes to all........
