How to convince Vista that a program is good

How do you convince Vista that a program that is installed is ok to run. I
have installed several programs that I use regulary, and every time I start
one Vista pops the question about wether to allow as trusted or not to
allow/ Is there a way to declare a program as safe permenatly.

When Windows first instituted a firewall by default, it was a 'one way'
filter, allowing Outgoing traffic without notification. This assumed
anything you, yourself, instituted was OK. The screams heard round the world
about the lack of security, and how there was this 'hole' in the Windows
Firewall would have made you think someone had just killed their favorite
dog. UAC was put it to do this, 'in spades'. Now the howl is about how much
it nags the user.
Yes, you can disable notification 'per app', but it is no more advisable
than leaving ONE of the doors in your house unlocked when going on vacation.
How it can be done is mildly technical.

How do you convince Vista that a program that is installed is ok to run.

Update it to a version which complies with the XP Programming Guidelines
(yep, I said XP, not Vista). Those guidelines have been out for years. XP
didn't enforce them, but Vista does. If your application doesn't play
nicely in Vista you should seriously ask yourself what is says about the
vendor.
