how to convert Canon THM files?

Hi all, I have a Canon digital camera and the video footage is THM formatted,
but I don't know how to change the format so I can use it in Movie Maker. Um,
help?

I have been able to discover that THM = Canon G3 Digital Camera Thumbnail
(Canon)

That would suggest its not the actual video file.

What is the model number of your camera? Does your camera have a firewire port
Mine (MV500i) has Firewire and interacts with Movie Maker fine

the video is AVI formatted (really motion-jpeg inside an AVI container)

the THM files are just extra files you really don't need to save - they are
for the thumbnail images

It's the Canon A70 (here's a specs review:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/canon_a70.asp). Canon introduced
the A75, and it may have additional features, but I haven't looked at it yet.
I don't really know anything about firewires, but I will look into it.
