I typed info in my table and wanted to convert it into a chart (like you do in Excel).
That did not work. I had to manually type info again into a data sheet.
Does anyone know a shorter way of doing this?

You may be able to copy/paste from the table to the chart datasheet.
Tables and charts in PPT are totally different, though (as you
discovered), so I'm not positive this will work.

You can copy and you can also import data from an Excel spreadsheet into
a PPT chart datasheet. Maybe that's a good workaround for you. For that
matter, you can also import the charts themselves from Excel to PPT.

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the capability to allow data in a PowerPoint table
to be linked to a chart such that changes to one are automatically
reflected in the other.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) feel strongly PowerPoint
should provide integration between PowerPoint tables and chart objects,
don't forget to send your feedback to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also why it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
