I have a big *.sit archive which is most probably created on a MacOS.

However I would like to burn or even better convert it to an *.iso archive.

how can I do this under WinXP ?

This is a Stuffit Archive.
To expand on a Windows machine, use the free program "Stuffit Expander"

<http://www.stuffit.com/win/expander/index.html>

Once expanded to a folder, you can use any of several Windows programs
to convert to an .iso image.

..sit is made by Stuffit. You can try/buy Stuffit for Windows from
www.stuffit.com or Winzip might be able to open it.
Extract your files from the sit and use Nero (or similar) to write
your files to an *iso (or .nrg) file.

Good luck.

You probably can't. A .sit is unlikely to be an .iso. An .iso is a disc
image while a .sit is simply a compressed archive, like a .zip file. If
WinZip won't do it, an appropriate utility can't be far away.
