Hi,

I like to use MM2 to give old video tapes a life. I have been searching for the answer, but it's so complicated!

I have a PC(WindowsXP) and several regular VCRs. I know that I need some device to connect them together. The PC has firewire connections, but when it comes to the VCR, it just have pins(audioR, audioL, video).

I saw the article that a lady says she got Pinnacle Movie Box for her problem, but what about my case? Help!!!

The analogue video from your VCR should go into the video in of a properly installed and configured analogue capture device or card - for example a VIVO ATI or nVidia video card. The analogue audio usually goes into the line in of your computer sound card. The line in is usually a 3.5mm (?) stereo jack so you'll need an adapter to go from the audioR and audioL RCA outputs of the VCR.

Therefore your first step is to get a video capture device. The firewire connection is only suitable for digital video transfer.

Hope this helps.

Harry's comment is supported by the comments on the Analog Video Capture >
Canopus page of my website.

There's only a few, but all are positive.
