How to connect a windows xp hm to Mac OS X (file Sharing)

How can do a peer to peer with a windows XP hm and Mac OS X
No apple talk is avaliable in WIndows XP, any solutions?
 
Maybe you can use TCP/IP and SMB on the Mac, I don't know the details - but
we just changed over for access ot our Win2000 server (it's running Mac
namespace on the NTFS partition).
Our Mac installs are done by a guru (pony tail, beard, sandals) of Macs and
I didn't watch every step.
There are reports of problems in OSX doing this though, and performance
isn't much faster than AFS over TCP/IP.
