How to configure IE 7

I am posting these IE 7 questions here in the IE 6 group because I can only
find German and French language groups for IE 7.

A search edit control and associated icons have been added and take up a lot
of room in the upper right corner. How can one remove it and its associated
icons?

It demands that I supply a default search provider. It has no facility for
not specifying it and 127.0.0.0 doesn't work. How can one remove this
demand?

Tabs are about three times the font height and many times wider than the
words in them. How can they be changed to be not so high and not waste so
much screen space? The IE icon on each tab provides no information. How
can it be discarded? How can they be reconfigured to be merely too wide for
their text?

The arrow to drop down a list of previous pages has been moved to the right
of the "next" arrow where it suggests it will list the next pages. The
arrow to drop down a list of the next pages is missing (to make room for the
unnecessarily enlarged next/last arrows?). How do you enable a down-arrow
icon for the next pages? How do you make the previous page drop-down list
icon arrow be next to the previous page icon arrow?

How does one move the icons up and down to the right end of the menu bar so
that there is room for tabs.

How do you move the two "favorites" icons horizontally so that they are with
the other icons? Alternatively, how do you remove them?

IE7 does not allow you to make it work the way you want. You are not
the only person who is unhappy about this.
