I have trouble with Fp2000 and would like to uninstall it
completely.
I don't think a regular uninstall from ControlPanel (W2K)
will do it all.
Do you know what registrykeys and other files that won't
be uninstalled using control panel's Add\remove programs?

best regards
Johan

Johan,

I can't help you will what files you may need to manually delete, but what
problems are you having with FP2000, that you think will be fixed by doing a
complete un-install?

Hi Thomas,

A person at my work works with a web on his local W2K
computer, just a simple little web with no web server.
But when opening this web and trying to import files he
get the message:
"An error occurred accessing your FrontPage web file.
Authors - if authoring against a web server, please
contact the webmaster for this server's site. WebMasters -
please see the server's system log for more details."

He has tried to reinstall but get same message. He also
got a NT4 workstation and it works on that one.
I did some searches on the web but couldn't find any good
answers though.

best regards,
Johan Eriksson

Have you reviewed the system event log file to see what the error is?

Source: FrontPage 4.0 Event ID: 1000
Description:
Microsoft FronPage Server Extensions:
Recieved empty response from Microsoft FrontPage Server
Extensions.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp

If i click it it says it will send info about a file
called fp4autl.dll version 4.0.2.7523 to MS, but I cannot
get mor information there unfortunately.

Since he says he don't use a local webserver for these
small webs, there is no logfiles either for that. Could
it be solved by installing a local webserver service do
you think?

Johan

What is the current location being used for these small webs?

To assist you in getting the best answers for FrontPage support see:

.

With FP closed, do a search for *.web files and delete them.

Johan,

Try creating a new disk based web somewhere on the HD, other than My
Documents\My Webs. Start by creating a folder, then open the folder via FP,
and let FP make it a web, then create a few pages, etc. and see if
everything works correctly. If so then create new folder for the current
webs outside of My Documents, then open each web and publish to the new
folder/web location.
