How to completely REMOVE new mail notification from system tray?

Can anyone please tell me how I can completely remove this from the system
tray? To me this is worthless (just clutters up my task tray with unnecessary
icon) because even when I get spam (which is constant all day long)... it is
telling me I have new mail. I don't want to simply hide the new mail
notification in the task tray... I want to FULLY remove it.

If anybody could tell me how I'd greatly appreciate it. I can't believe I
can't find where to remove it!

Thanks.

I see thanks. Shoot so you cannot remove it completely... that is silly IMO.

But the good news is that for some strange reason even when I do get new
mail... it doesn't show up in the task tray.

Perhaps your efforts might be better put toward finding an ISP that does a
decent job of filtering spam at the server end.

Right click on the START button, select Properties then click on the
Notification area then the Customize button.
Locate and click on the You have new e-mail
When you do, there are your options.
