I've been scouring through several pages of TechNet but couldn't find an answer to that one.

Can anyone please give me a pointer how to completely remove a stranded DC/GC entry from AD? I am getting event log error messages that replication to one particular DC/GC fails but the machine is neither visible in the Active Directory Users and Computer, Active Directory Domains Trusts nor Active Directory Sites and Services MMC snapin.

TIA!

Try running the NTDSUTIL utility to see if
the DC still exist in the database. If it show up,
you can also remove the object with the same utility.
The in information in this article might help also.
