Hi all - Windows XP SP2

I find the popup notices inthe MSAS very annoying, in that they hang for
such a long time before going away, and there is no way to close them before
they are ready to go. These are not the red bug or nasties alerts, those
are ok. These notices are ones like "this has been allowed," or "that has
been allowed." which I am already aware of, as *I* am the one who has
allowed it, and they are a real pain. and interruption.

Is there a way that these notices can be disabled, or manually closed by the
User? I've checked in the settings, but, have not been able to find anyway
yet to do so. If not, could someone who knows someone, who knows someone,
who....has lunch with someone.....etc. at Redmond ask them to put a close
mechanism on these popup so that they can be manually closed by the User.

I've seen a couple of mentions here that they've heard this feedback. I
believe when we see a future release with significant UI improvements, that
there will be big changes in this area, both in terms of the number of such
messages, and the manner and timing of their display.

However, at this point I don't know of a way.

Hi Bill! :-)

Yeah...sorta what I thought. But, glad to hear that there may be some
adjustments in the next round. It is good to have such features, but, not so

Thanks for the reference. I'll give it a comb over. :-)

Thank you very much for your time and help, I really appreciate it.

Jan :)
