how to click URL in word

I use Windows XP and Word 2002. When I place a mouse over a URL in word, my
mouse pointer doesn't change to a hand. Instead it tells me I have to press
CTRL+click the URL. Is there a way I can simply click the URL in word and
have my browser start?

No, you have to do as you are being told - Ctrl+Click

Sachi,

If you want to be able to click to activate a hyperlink, do the following:
On the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Edit tab, click to clear the Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink
check box.
Click OK to close the Options dialog box.
