Hello
How to clear information about bad sectors in a MFT, for chkdsk to
recreate it properly? All 3-d party utilities show that my HDD is
healthy, but Windows remembers that my HDD has 100 GB of bad sectors. I
do not want to lose Windows XP SP2 and program settings on this system
bootable HDD.

If you`ve got that many bad sectors. I think you`d better think about
replacing that drive before you lose everthing !.

After 10 months of use from a new 120GB drive, chkdsk shows 0 KB in bad
sectors. It has been a long time since I remember seeing anything listed as
bad sectors, or seeing so many (along with the sounds) that I knew the drive
was close to dead.

If you have 100 GB of bad sectors, you have a very bad drive. Forget about
clearing the MFT. Worry about getting your data off that drive and getting
a new drive.
