Hello to All -

I'm helping a friend prepare a PowerPoint slide show for a group where he
will need to be able to choose which slide to display next. That is, he
wants to be able to display a slide (via projector) and then select the next
slide based on where the discussion of the current slide leads. The next
slide could be anywhere in the show -- approx 200 slides total. This will be
in PowerPoint 2002 (2000 is also available) and can be presented on laptop
or desktop, laptop preferred.

Any help will be appreciated, and thanks.

John,

Did you know that during a slideshow...you can enter a slidenumber from the
keyboard then press "Enter" and powerpoint will jump to that slide.

So...one suggestion is to have a B&W hardcopy (maybe 6 or 9 to a page).
Making sure that each slide has a slidenumber printed on the hardcopy
(View>Master>SlideMaster>Insert Slide Number).

Another suggestion (depending on how near the projector is).

Press "pause/hold/freeze" or whatever your projector remote control has the
button labelled as. To freeze the projector display. Then swith to
powerpoints slidesorter.....double click the slide you want to
display...then press the "view slideshow button...bottom left"...Then
un-freeze the projector

He can type in the slide number and press return. I recommend that he
create a printed index of his slides to facilitate this. He can check the
index and locate the slide number he wants to jump to.

Thank you, Sonia -
Perfect solution!
